Cured red cedar, cracked, from east TX near Fairfield.

Carpet remnants to protect stone. Fireplace on to warm stick.

Hotplate on to heat epoxy (lowest setting is too hot). Epoxy boiled and I removed it. The tile stayed hot throughout the process of applying to cracks on the "up" side.

Funny thing with Cedar. I have quite a bit of Red Western Cedar and it's the only

wood in my stock that doesn't crack, go figure.

Thanks Sean, that is encouraging. I've begun soaking my green cedars in Pentacryl, the first green stick has now soaked nearly four days. Now I have to build a rack from which to hang them, either in the garage or in my outside workshop, exposed to the elements on two sides.
