I see you are making steady progress. Have plans for a 1st use?

Am I correct that the shell will be a ferrule? If so, will the plastic tip be a part? What kind of plastic?

The young lady misspoke. The tip is not plastic, but steel, and hollow. Perfect for a threaded insert, secured with J-B Weld, and the projctile resecured to the brass similarly. It's working out better than expected. Yes it's a ferrule, and some other pics give additional detail.

Now whittling and rasping stick to fit.

There's some tough plastics, but steel seems better for a tip. Gonna be a good walk once that's in your hand.
