That looks really nice. Simple, elegant, and eye-catching.

Thanks, Gdenby. I had bought that chunk of Amber at the Dinosaur Museum In Dickinson, ND. I finally found a place to display it!

I love this one, would like to try something similar. How did you get it to stay in place?

I traced the outline of the stone, then using a Dremel, gently carved a flat bottomed hole about 1/8" deep, with undercut sides to match the curve of the upper surface of the Amber. Once it fit tight, I had a heck of a time getting it back out to wood glue it back in.

For a stone, amber is pretty soft, so I hit the flat bottom of the stone with an aggressive file to give the glue a bit of "tooth" to grab onto.

So far, it's been Rock Solid!
