My stump.. :-)

My stump.. :-)

This was simply sitting on the ground in a small yard when my neighbor moved in. She didnt like it and planned to throw it in the garbage. Now I just have to figure out what I'm going to do with it. Its much more impressive in person.

I've been looking at a lot of carvings in my attempt to begin understanding the different techniques needed to create some of the amazing things I've seen here and other places, not to mention the ideas dancing in my head inspiried by what Ive seen, but I'm having a bit of trouble with simply how to begin. What to try first.. I'm a fast learner, but carving such as I've been seeing, seems like something I'm not sure I'll be able to master..Though I'll never lose my love of wood and stick collecting/makiing. Still, I'm gonna remain positive and we'll see what happens... :) Happy happy happy Autumn !!!
