Very nice! I haven't seen the european style rock hammer before. Are you a rockhound?

I got paid to have fun as a geologist for 43 years. The G.I. Bill and pumping gas all night got me through a really good school, and I've been retired for a year and a half.

I will finish it with natural (no color) Danish Oil, after I've put 1/8" notches for brass or copper wire wraps at 1-foot and 2-feet from the base. Between the wire wraps I'll place matching wood screws at 1-inch intervals. That will be for outcrop measurements.

I may give one to a student organization to auction off to old geezers at one of their fund raisers.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my three favorite geological societies are sending me lapel pins to embed. The Geological Society of America (GSA), the Society of Economic Paleontologists and Mineralogists (SEPM), and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), are sending pins.

I have one just as Minerox ships, as pictured on their website. That's the giveaway, when finished. I talked them into sending just the hammer head, and the one you see here has a hickory handle from the hardware store.

Most impressive. Very professional, and I would suppose could really pick into rocks.

You're a bit more serious than your average rockhound then.

It's a nice looking tool and whoever gets it will be very pleased I'm sure. I love the idea of the built in measuring stick too.
