Here's some of the Hornbeam canes I've been working on for the past two weekends. The first picture I left the bark on the handle and the second picture I sanded the bark off. Thinking about sanding the bark off on the next 4 I like how the wood looks.

Oh I don't know. I like the looks of both. The ones bark on kinda look like some hickory I have left bark on. Either way they both look good. Variety is the spice of life they say!

I got 4 more to work on so I'm going to take the bark off the handles and shanks the bark on hornbeam is very thin so it don't take long with my dremel tool and a 60 grit sanding drum.
