The BLO really "pops" the grain and darkens the wood. I use a lot of boiled linseed oil myself as it is readily available at any hardware store, is versatile, )I often add stains to enhance the color) and its inexpensive compared to the Tung or Danish oils. I usually add a polyurethane finish over the BLO but it can be left as is or apply a wax. Many options and did I say inexpensive?

I've noticed you've used that tree, background, for previous pictures, also, right? Q: Are your canes hanging or are they simply leaning against the tree. I like the contrast but have no trees of any such size anywhere around our place.

That's a pecan tree in my back yard in just lean them up on it. I like using that tree it makes a good background.
