a) the "collected" canes - from friends/relatives, etc - are stored/kept in the garage

b the "hand-made" canes - here in the house.

c) Because of vertigo/balance issues I've been using canes for years but the use of my hand-made canes began in Jun 2013.

d) Most recently I've been forced to use a cane 24/7 - not much fun, but it's better than falling at age 81.

nice set of canes, the No 50, looks as like it would be ideal for a carved duck or bird head, has the natural shape.
I'm certainly not a carver, but here's that head before finishing. You're probably right. I'll let you/others be the judge.
