It's been awhile since I've posted anything here.I was asked by a friend if I could make a cane for her FIL that's having leg issues..He's a retired marine, and that's all I knew..So here is what I came up with and the family loves it so far..I need more burning time but it passed..Ash with copper fitting.

That is awesome! This inspires me even more to learn how to use the little woodburning kit that I bought.

I've done two walking sticks for Marines. One had been diagnosed with cancer, and he got to use his stick for just a year before he succumbed to the cancer. The other was my teammate during the 1968 Tet offensive, as the two of us were attached to a company of Korean Marines. He has had M.S. for about four years, he's stable but actually uses the stick. He's taken it to a few veterans' events and had some take photos of it.

I know that you'll be very happy once you've completed this, and that your gift will be appreciated tremendously.
