Carving Class

1374 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Gloops
A few pics of last weekends carving seminar I was asked to host at the Tippecanoe River State Park. We were teaching the basics of carving a face out of a sweet potato using plastic knives. The idea was to make the class as kid friendly as possible and still appeal to adults. The potato as it dries shrinks and takes on a ghoulish appearance, perfect for Halloween. We had a lot of fun doing it, at least I did, not sure about my helpers that were peeling potatoes. ( second pic my wife and sister are at the end of the table peeling potatoes) The last pic is one of the taters after it had shrunk and was painted.

Thanks for looking

Mark

Well done! I never knew you could do that with sweet potatoes. I remember carving an apple and drying it as a kid.
