Just thought I would share this for those of you that use carving knives on your sticks. I would set my knife on the table and it would get turned around and I have stabbed my hand, not looking where I am reaching. They would slide away and have to look for them. I have had them get hit and fall to the floor. I found a cheap and simple way to protect the blade and myself. It just takes a small piece of leather, you could use cardboard and a small biderclip. You caver the blade and give the knife a stand.

I use cardboard sleeves on my hand saws for protecting th blade. as i hang them up they occasionally fall just being clumsy and not paying attention i suppose but its a good idea saves cuts on the hand and protects the knife

Great idea! Thanks for sharing that. Those are great looking knives. Who makes them?

Nice idea Randy.

Saw some of the wood carvers at the Dayton show with pieces of plastic tubing over their blades. Thought that was a good idea so I mooched 6" for my blades off the wife's garden fountain pump when I put it up for the winter.
