Co-worker wanted a totem for a client. I sketched up a North Wind. I believe the wood is Ash...hard as a rock

Did not want a finish on it.
Girls are for size

looks good to me .they aged untreated wood gives it character

Did you treat it with wood preserve the totum not your girls(i assume they are your girls).Nice children remind me of my granddaughter, yes they do help with scale

Yep my girls, I have 3. This is comfortable resting in someone elses living room, not sure what they did with it

I did nothing besides carve and a little sanding. The client wanted it untreated. It is severly hard. I have had one in my yard for 8 years that we use around the fire pit to sit upon that hasn't started showing the slightest rot.

Ash is very hard -- and it does take a long time to rot -- I've had several die from emerald ash bore and even after several years were still hard as a rock!
