Finished it to day I like the cardigan look. It has a spar urethane finish. In a few days I will give it 2 or 3 coats of Johnson & Johnson floor wax. it protects and gives a luster like look to the finish.

I will start another cardigan stick soon as I catch up with jobs I have to do
and am looking at using a birch and American walnut laminated between tow pieces of birch it should provide a good contrast but I like the water buffalo horn cap on its end it should enhance the stick when polished just hope it will turn out as well as your stick CV3

That should make a good looking grip cobalt. I agree, the horn inhances a stick look. I have a second handle like the one I made. I have ordered a cannery wood shaft for it. In should come next week. But I have a lot of other things to complete befor I can get to it.
