Your original thread was in the Introductions section. On the right hand side of the Home page, there is a box listing the most recent topics. Your introduction "Newbie From LaLa Land California" is the second one listed (after this one, in fact) Just click on it and it should bring it up.

Not sure about the quota thing; I've never run into that.

Oh, and you had asked about adding pictures of your canes: at the bottom of the window where you type responses and such, there is a button which says "More Reply Options." Click on it and you can either add the url from a third party picture hosting site like Imgur or (like I do) just browse from your own picture files and import them directly. Similar process for adding a profile picture.
