Been working on this one for a little while as time allowed. The wood is Red Maple, collected a few miles from my house. It is a very hard wood. Just put the finish on it this morning.

Thanks Randy. The pictures don't do it justice, I think it looks much better in person. Don't know why, but the pictures are much clearer before being posted here.

Thanks CV3. It was a learning experience and the snake drew blood several times. My favorite part is the knob and the very subtle grain patterns in the shaft. I wasn't sure I would like the blond wood, but it has grown on me.

Because of the small diameter of the stick, it is difficult to get a good photographic representation and I was using my cell phone to take the pictures - not the best of cameras. It is more impressive in person.
