I have been using a home made table top down draft dust collector for rotatory tool work. cheap and easy to build the one I have is 18"x 18". I put L brackets on one side letting me clamp it to a table or bench were I can sit and work over it. Here is a you tube of how to make one.Down Draft Dust Collector You can find a number of other you tubes on this with different ideas.

That's a real good idea, I was musing on one like a long narrow slot attached to my shop vac but that looks so much better, especially the downward slope to encourage the dust towards the extractor.

Thanks for that.

Great idea for dremel sanding. I am looking for a solution to the belt/disc sander dust issues.. Any ideas, anyone?
Something like this that you could put on a stand or just a board that would let you C-clamp it to the sander stand or table top. Make it swivel so you can turn it for disk or belt. Or just make one for each and move the hose. Should get a lot of the dust.

I like it. Looks like an easy and cheap fix for the garage looking like a sand storm blew through! TX Randy
