Finished this one the other day. It was one I had started quite a while ago before the hot weather of summer set in. The core is a layer of oak and two layers of what I think is cocobolo, each 1/4 inch thick. I then sliced some pieces of walnut, maple, yellow birch and alder and glued them on. Put it on an alder shank which probably should have been a bit thicker so I wouldn't have lost so much material fitting the handle.

Thanks Rodney. I think this one was more of a learning experiment than a potential sale item. Might try it again sometime with smaller bits of wood to give more variation.

you are welcome
it must have been a bit fiddly gluing and clamping the pieces together
but a job well done at the end of it all
how long did it all take from start to finish to make the handle
well now I know what to do with all my offcuts of wood
after seeing your stick as also inspired me to get started with making a stick
not started yet got all the parts but need to get things going
take care mate
