it's a silly question but a permanent one. I have a cane obviously and my son removed my 38 inch brass head fitting. I have been all over the internet looking for the proper terminology to try to source somewhere where I can purchase one but everywhere I go I seem to be faced with the simple choice of buying only the full game and unfortunately this game has been in my family for some time so I guess my question is. what would be the proper terminology for such an item? and if there is no proper terminology given that it's made of brass I suspect that you could be the full cost ultimately of the cane itself which I'm hoping to avoid for sentimental reasons. if anyone can provide you with the proper term for a 3/8th inch replacement screw on head to a traditional cane then I would be most grateful? thank you

There is a topping piece called a hame. Evidently, it was something originally used in a pair as part of a draft animal harness. Do a search on "hame," or "cane hame," and see if what you find is suitable.
