Of the many canes produced I prefer those with WOOD knob/handles (being a woodworker, etc) however on occasion other items have served. During the summer of 2015 I made and gave canes to my two eye doctors with eyeball gear shifter knobs as the handle and they both loved them.

However I've recently come upon another idea - shown here - a mahogany gear shifter knob received yesterday.

I'm not certain just yet how I'll be using this but chances are it'll be gone - or at least in the cane stand - fairly soon.

they are "universal" - supposedly can be adapted to use on any car with stick shift. I'll insert a short dowel in the opening and top of the shank and super glue into place - when I decide which stick.

IF interested do search for Gear Shift Knobs on eBay, Amazon, etc.

When that shifter knob goes on a stick it oughta be called the "Hot Rod"! Then "drag" that stick out for a walk around the "strip" mall.

Nice idea. But make sure you put it in a stick that goes in reverse, too :lol:
