Howdy Y'all,

I have recently gotten into wood carving (mostly whittling), and I've always loved nice walking sticks, so I decided to try my hand at making my own. In the process of searching for information, I kept turning up threads on here that told me what I needed to know, so I decided it was time for me to sign up.

I'm a high school chorus teacher by day, and my main hobbies include fly fishing for mountain trout, shooting, gardening, and playing with knives.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and learning more.

Hi, welcome,

Well, I don't have even a 1 octave range for my voice, sad 'cause my Mom was a very good soprano singing coloratura. Fly fishing strikes me as a kind of wizardry.

Used to shoot some, till I moved into the city.

Gardening, playing w. knives, those I do. Walking sticks are in between the two. I've found some of the best wood from ornamental trees I've trimmed, and keeping metal edges sharp is a necessity for wood working.

You'll have fun with stick making, I'm sure.
