Hello! I made this walking stick about 30 years ago, but cannot ID the wood now. Any ideas?

Looks like maple...woodworms have made that design.....seen this in Sugar Maple here in Canada....

No pic bud.... No such beastie as Eastern Red Cedar....Red Cedar grows on West Coast..Calif. up to BC.
We have Eastern White Cedar here....Cedar has distinct smell fragrant...Very soft for a stick easily breaks unless its thick staff...
