I found these sticks laying on the ground - and frankly I'd rather not name them F.O.G.
The first pic is a cane I completed a year or so ago - please note the markings.
Pics 2 and 3 are a current shank - and it appears to be the same tree specie as Cane #22. Of this I am certain - most of the bark is quite "loose" not tightly attached to the center core. The lighter colored places are where I've pulled or wood chiseled the bark away - but I want/need to leave some of it intact for contrast purposes.
Can anyone here help me properly identify the tree specie?
