But for the last 7-10 days I've been working on a flag - to hang on the fence of our condo - wanting to get it done by the 4th and I succeeded, thankfully.

I bought 8 pieces 1x4x48" rough sawn cedar at Lowe's Home Improvement - they cut to length so I could get inside my car.

I wanted it to look rustic - old - so painted the rough side.

We cannot nail/screw - use any permanent devices/hangers - to the outside surfaces so I had to design/build/attach a wood hanger for the flag to hang from the fence. It's my plan for this to stay in place through the holiday and I'll then bring it into my man cave - on display, of course - until the next holiday - Labor Day, probably.

It's 28x48" and weighs maybe 15 lbs - a guess on my part.

Btw, about being canned? I'm grateful to be a part of the most amicable group alive! I belong to about 2 other forums as a mod and we are always kept busy with petty disagreements and foolishness.
You'd have to do a lot worse than a double post to consider ever being "canned."

Great job on the flag btw.
