Last 3 days I have been locked out of the shop. We have had so much rain and 24/7 high humidity that the door to the shop is swollen shut! I have try for days to get in to play with my new chisles and can't get in. Dry cooler air tonight I should be able to get in tomorrow.

We have wooden doors on our house and oubuildings too. Same thing. Every winter they swell so much it can be a problem to open a few of them.

Double doors are worse. My shop has double doors on the end. They move at least 1/2" total over the year.

Well it is dry and cool this morning but this will last until tonight then they are now saying 3 more days of on and off rain. This is getting old. I will take another shoot at getting in the shop in a few hour. If I can get in I will get some would and palm tool so I can carve in the house.

Rain seems to be an issue everywhere this year. It has not gotten cold enough to freeze up here so we have had no snow and the amount of rain we have gotten is turning everything into a soggy mess. This wet and cold weather is killing my joints. at least when it gets colder the humidity goes away and I can move relatively pain free.

I wish I could say we have the same problem but ours is the complete opposite. We've been suffering from years of drought and even though the weather forecasters predict an El Nino winter, we've had some light rain but nothing that would build up our reserves back to normal. A lot of communities are still rationing water.

I have a lot of friends in the LA to Orange County area. I lived out there for many years. I have heard how bad it has been. We are now at over 81 inches for the year. Just about 6 feet of water. Wish we could send you some.

I AM IN !! Got the shop open. Got a leaf blower from a friend. I have one but it was in the shop. Spent about 20 minutes using the blower to dry out the door. Then planed down to keep it from doing it again. I am back in business.. :thumbsu:

The only problem with planing doors down is once they dry out again they might not shut properly. Wooden doors are a pain that way but I like them better than the metal and plastic alternatives.

I'm glad you're back in your shop.
