Just spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get my wifi modem working with computer and devices. Talk to two xfinity helpers in another country for a hour and 45 min. They finely connected me to someone here that resolved the issue in 15 min. The words training come to mind!!!!!

Had a similar situation a while back (work related though, nothing to do with computers). I thought the new boss was trying to pull a fast one with one of his policies regarding time off, so I decided to call the HR dept. My call went to a cubicle farm/call center where the young lady read to me (3 times) the policy which I had just quoted to her from memory. She was obviously working from a script.

On the up side, I'm pretty sure she was in the Philippines and I've always had a thing for Asian girls. She sounded cute...Hope she didn't catch any crap when I asked to speak to her supervisor.

these call centres formed so the company says to make life easier for the customer do they hell, there just done to save the company's money and nothing else

there's usually a list of numbers to connect you to the supposedly right person after the 6th digital response it then says please listen to the following numbers to enable us to connect you to the right department so there you are waiting with finger pointed at the ready and you press the wrong button. On the 4th attempt to get the right connection and probably 10-15 mins wait saying all our advisors are busy and forced to listen to some repetitive music you end up with someone who only speaks broken English /After asking to speak to the supervisor trying to keep a friendly tone of voice he tells you to ring another department and cant connect you .

some customer service company's give you nowadays . they say they do this to make things easier ?bet they don't user the service
