Is what our mailman said as he handed me today's mail plus a box. So, of course, I wished him a Merry Christmas also. Once inside I grabbed one of my bride's FAV knives (shhhhhhhhhhh!) and cut the box open to discover these marvelous handles, two Fritz style and the one in the middle Derby.

If you think I won't enjoy making canes to fit these beauties, go stick your nose in some nearby corner.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Those three handles came with a 5/8" opening to fit a tendon - a temporary issue for me - As "Santa" suggested I filled those opening with 5/8" dowel and cut away the excess with my miter saw. I am reasonably pleased with the result.

NOW the issue is to drill holes in the EXACT center for the dowel screw. And THAT is an issue.

(I MISS my wood working tools including that drill press I gave away!)

If your holes are drilled a hair off center its no big deal, IMHO. That's what makes the difference between a hand crafted piece and some machine manufactured junk!
