Years ago, my twin sister offered to bring me a cane from her travels to Africa and for a bit I resisted, finally gave in but only after saying I would call them "walking sticks" - certainly not canes. She brought me three and that began my first collection which eventually numbered near 30. When we downsized to move into this condo I gave most of them away to my family.

THEN in 2013 I began making canes and now am back to near 30 again. I am hearing it's time to reconsider downsizing. And since I still need someone to wash my dirty socks I think I might give more away. Beginning again with my family.

First the current collection in our three cane stands, then lined up in numerical order (is there any other way?)

Nice collection Neb! Hmmm I think you are short a few, you need at least 31. After all, it is not fashionable to use the same stick more than once a month! Drop that one on the bride and see how it goes over. I'm thinking you'll be washing more than your socks........

I truly did not fully appreciate (??) how obsessed I've become until I put all three cane stands together for this pic. So I'm going to cut back, take some of them perhaps 5-6-7 to a local thrift store today/tomorrow.
