LOL - actually my knees are safe, I've already tested it - the top and the tip line up perfectly when in use.

Thanks! I've got Sassafrass growing on the property everywhere like a weed! You can get straight stuff when they are young, but as they age they get gnarly.

Sassafrass is beautiful if you strip just the outer bark off. The inner bark has an interesting pattern.

I too love to work with sassafras for its aroma and the look of the inner bark, as well as how well it carves.
