This is my first try at a cane the handle is a piece of sweet gum I saved when I was working on a walking stick the shaft is some type of Indonesian wood that was used in the frame work on a pallet stacking sticks we use here at the sawmill. It was 2x2 and 37in long I took it and cut it down on a table saw into a hexagon shape to about 1 1/4 inches.

Please describe. What are "pallet stacking sticks?" And, does the mill get lots of the stuff? A bunch of stuff from Indonesia that is common there might be a treasure here. It looks a little like luan to me, which I've only seen as a plywood veneer. Very light weight, but a good looking wood.
