For now, I plugged the set screw hole with a peened over and filed down piece of screw, reshaped the bevel, sharpened the edge, hand fitted the head to the haft, shortened the handle 3", stripped, sanded, stained and oiled the handle and made a custom leather sheath for it. I also plan to rust blue it. I have a better handle on order for it that I will do some decorative pyrography on and add a copper lanyard tube to as well as the staining and linseed oiling.
