Newbie CPA here! I know nothing about wood working and my only skills are with numbers, but I've fallen in love with walking sticks. I ove walking thru the woods in the fall but I have to have a walking stick because I'm terrified of snakes.

We all started somewhere. My first stick was a partly-rotted pine branch. Bad idea...

Your tool kit will be a reflection of the complexity of the sticks you like to make. Mine consists of maybe 5-6 regularly used items. One of those is a bottle opener for a bit of refreshment while working.

Welcome aboard.

I'm not sure how to post pix. I've made a couple sticks. I don't own any power tools and have no wood working experience. But holding a piece of wood I cut and finished really makes me feel good. I have a piece of Osage Orange that I finished using Tung Oil from Milk Paint Company and it's a thing of beauty.

to post pics use the lower grey RH button-More reply options, this ads a attach files area at the bottom of the posting window, use browse to go to where your pic's are stored, select a pic then attach the file (lower button)) the pic is then added to the bottom of the window if ok add to post, repeat for further pics NB before you commit there is a Preview option to allow you to see the post, if all ok then post.

NB rotate any pics to correct orientation before selecting.
