I think most of us have been there, buddy. I rarely leave the shop without at least a bit of blood loss. A year or two ago, I was in the shop but had to get something which was next to my recliner in the living room. Earlier, I had scratched my leg on a twig but thought nothing of it because it hadn't hurt much. Got to my recliner and headed back for the kitchen and I saw a big patches of blood on the floor. I noticed that they came into the living room as well. Looked down at my leg and there was blood running down into my sock (which was soaked). All from a tiny nothing of a scratch.
As for bark removal, you can have my spokeshave when you pull it from my cold, dead hands (to paraphrase Charlton Heston). Nothing like it in my book. Only downside is that it's a bugger to sharpen the concave blade.
This one isn't mine but very similar.
I'll use a small Xacto knife for the hard to reach bits this won't reach.
Take care of that finger Valky. At least it wasn't your driving finger.
