This persimmon was growing in the ditch of a road on our hunting club the root was growing out of the side of the ditch and the rest of it was up.

Nice angle on that handle for a reverse grip strider! I have several sticks similar and use them daily. I dont like walking with a straight pole stick, nor a cane while walking around the neighborhood for exercise so this style fits the bill.
Btw, is that handle pretty much hollow, or am I just not seeing it properly?

It's only hollow about half way. I took a pocket knife cut out the rotten wood then took my dremel tool and sanded out the rest.

I have never used persimmon is it hard to work with?

It a hard wood to work with it took me a while to work on the handle part.
