I was over at my brother in laws to help him with a chore that required two persons. ( Move couch) BIL hade several pieces of these northern red oak rounds that were used as part of a rustic center piece on the tables at my nieces wedding. They are about 12" in diameter X 1 1/2" tk. He asked me if I had a use for them. (Little bit of checking going on one piece, fill with wood glue?) Any ideas on reducing further checking?

Also, any ideas on projects for rounds? (I can get more) I see a clock face on one with Roman Numerals put in with the wood burner.

Smooth them out as much as possible, put several coats of food grade mineral oil on them, and use them for chopping blocks.

Are chopping blocks a good idea you know what the queen of harts said " off with his head." so dont upset the better half
