Some of you guys have scotishh relations ,so for those who have i assune you are aware that scotland is voting soon to become a independant state in its own right, and will leave the united kingdom if it is a yes vote

Its a hot topic here and in scotland it has broken families and friends up such is the fearocity of the topic. It will mean all the Uk forces pulling out of scotland and it will have to apply for membership of the euor zone

Theres lots of implications for scottish buisness as well as a lot of buisenes ocording to the Eu have to be based in the capital where most of its buisness is done .,Scotaland has only a population of 6 million

I have been reading some articles about it and have watched some story's the BBC cable channel here. I understand the wish to be independent. It seem that it would be a very difficult for Scotland to make it work. But I also know the Scottish can be hard and determined people. I am not sure I would bet against them.

I know Scottish culture runs deep. Had a friend some years ago who participated in "Highland Games" held (I believe) in the state of Missouri. My father-in-law, whose family has been in No. America since before the Revolutionary war, when visiting Scotland bothered to track down an appropriate clan tartan. Reading around a bit, I came across one historian using the term "hostile merger" for the creation of the UK. I guess very old historic feelings are moving a lot of people.

I've been reading about it, but not very familiar with the movement. The UK will let them become an independant state without any objection?
Theres a referrendom being cast next week so it will be uo to the people of scotland as to what happens.

It would be like one of your states declaring indipendenct and think that the facts of this wont be in scotlands favour.

They want to keep the english pound, and still have the queen for the monarch. They insist that that the royal navy and airforce pull out of scotland which has a very big bases there and it will cost them thousands of jobs.

They wont be a member of the euro zone applying for membership wont be easy.Lots of british companys will have to pull out due to eu regulations regarding the main area of buisness .Long term is very uncertain as to what will happen

I wouldnt like to see it happen but its in the hands of the people

Also i think if they dont get independance i hope it wont go down the same road as northern ireland with terrorist activity as feelings are running very high.

Ireland was given there indpendance but there was so much bloodshed in the north that part of ireland was kept to protect the population ,the protestants and the cathlics seem to be arch enimys just like some areas in and around glasgow and violence between the community is still there .still cant understand why?

Your right the scotts are a proud people and history has a lot to do wit it but the polls are so close no one knows which way it will go
