Good evening stick makers. After attending the wood carving club on Saturday I had been working on Christmas ornaments, then I thought, hey it is October and Halloween is the next holiday so I went home and roughed out this piece from a scrap 2" basswood block that was in the cut offs bucket. A fun, easy little piece. After a little more sanding & paint I may give this caricature to my great grand daughter.

That is a good idea. Will have to see what my g- g- daughter thinks of that

Like that idea would make a good seasonal stick for the little ones to walk round with, hollow the back out and open the eyes and mouth out and stick a small battery tea light in.

Seems the Pumpkin Heads were a big hit. Got a request for 4 more. These were delivered today. I enjoy caricature carving it allows me to experiment with facial expressions. with a caricature the more exaggerated the better. After 6 of these pumpkin heads it is time to move on. I have a request for a fishing themed stick or a fish stick? Not sure yet what the fella is after. At least it's not another pumpkin!
