I just put the finish on a stick that's been laying around for 35 or 40 years. I think it is dogwood. I decided to do something with it a week or two ago so after studying it for awhile, I decided to peel it and carve the eagles head on the rear of the handle and the eyeball on a little protrusion on the front. The shaft was pretty plain and boring so I decorated it with my woodburner and stained the bottom half.

It's again been firmly established I am NOT an artist - I can follow a pattern that someone else has drawn/made etc, but to do what you have done is truly a work of art.
