I would guess that many of us have at least one set of small diamond detail files in our box of tools. They are always use full for shaping small deatil and that final touch. But I have always dislike the sinny handles, the slip and ture in my hands. And with old hands they can be hard to hold on to firmly. This was my solution and I am very happy with it. They only thing I would do different is next time I will make the hole a 11/2" deeper in the ped to shorten the over all length.

Wow! Really cool idea, Randy. Those look mighty comfy. Maybe I'll have to blow the dust off my lathe and make a few.

Reminds me of quite a few years ago when I was using a rat tail file on something and it didn't have a handle and kept jabbing my palm. After searching the bench and storage area for over half an hour looking for a handle I thought I'd bought, I looked over at my lathe and said "Duh!" Grabbed a maple off cut and made a nice handle for it.
