Hello. I'm new to the forum. I am a retired farmer in Arkansas. I have been making walking sticks for several months. I use a variety of local wood and really like diamond willow, when I can get it. I look forward to picking up new ideas and new technique tips from forum members. Plant Wood Garden tool Terrestrial plant Hand tool Wood Sky Composite material Electrical supply Engineering

Welcome aboard. Really nice sticks in your pictures. I especially like the 4th from the right ( or bottom) in the second picture with the yellow cord wrap and the separate sections of twist on it. So cool!

Thank you. That one is oak that I found on the farm. I've tried several types of wood mostly diamond willow, oak and sweet gum. If you ever find a piece of crepe myrtle try it. It makes a nice straight walking stick. It's used as a decorative shrub in our area.

Welcome aboard sickelstix. Good looking collection. I am a fan of parcord also, I braid it for my lanyards. Usually use a four strand braid
