Hello. I'm new to the forum. I am a retired farmer in Arkansas. I have been making walking sticks for several months. I use a variety of local wood and really like diamond willow, when I can get it. I look forward to picking up new ideas and new technique tips from forum members. Plant Wood Garden tool Terrestrial plant Hand tool

Welcome aboard. Really nice sticks in your pictures. I especially like the 4th from the right ( or bottom) in the second picture with the yellow cord wrap and the separate sections of twist on it. So cool!

Thank you. That one is oak that I found on the farm. I've tried several types of wood mostly diamond willow, oak and sweet gum. If you ever find a piece of crepe myrtle try it. It makes a nice straight walking stick. It's used as a decorative shrub in our area.
