Here are a couple YouTube that might be helpful if you are just getting into
carving. They are not about stick carving but are good basic carving. Gene Messer is a well know carver and he has posted a library basic how to's. on carving many objects. The other is a way to do eyes called the diamond eye, it is easy to learn. Hope they are helpful

Always useful to see others working methods .lot of good hint and tips on there.

Its not very oftern i use a carving knife mostly chisel and rotary tools ,but the are good for fine detail

Wow, Mr. Messer has been extraordinarily generous. So many videos. 200+ !

I see his blog called "Flat Plane Carver." I wish he showed some work that went further than that. His method seems quite concise, and I imagine that he could break his flat planes down ever smaller, and get ever closer to a curve.
