I don't think a bot necessarily. I think it was a live person searching for every discussion group, forum, whatever manually to plug their products.

Doesn't make it less spammy though.

I haven't seen many recently. If you find one and suspect it of being a spammer, can you use the 'report' function? This will notify the mods/admins of an issue and we will investigate.
