They are huge! I was killing ground hogs and throwing them out in the field for the turkey buzzards to dispose of. I had shot three hogs that morning and threw them out. What you don't see in this picture are the dozen buzzards that gave this eagle a wide berth when he pounced on this really fresh hog. He made the buzzards look small - and they are big birds.

Great photo Rad. They are gorgeous birds, for sure. A week or so ago as I started into the woods to collect blanks, there was one sitting in a tall pine near the end of the trail.

And a big thumbs up for shooting groundhogs (we call them woodchucks here but same thing). I hate those little SOBs. I am a 3rd generation woodchuck shooter out the bathroom window. My Grammy Wrigley got a few out the toilet window many moons ago, my Dad got one that way when I was a little kid, and I got one a few years later after they'd remodeled the house and moved the bathroom. Gotta get the nieces and nephew to carry on the tradition.

Good for you dww2! Yes we call them woodchuck's, wistlepigs, Nazi Rodents from hell, and yes groundhogs! Keep up the tradition.
