Unexpected interest

I've been interested in walking canes and the skills behind making them.
In 2018 I had an issue that resulted in crutches and they were uncomfortable however I set them up.

I bought a simple lightweight telescopic walking stick in aldl or lidl and have had to use it sporadically.

2023 I find myself with ankle operation and 9 weeks off work recuperation and wanting an interest.

So I thought customised walking stick as further operations on the horizon and I have come to terms with needing to use one.

It seems an affordable hobby compared to my others and something to be proud of.

Nothing like making your own stick, Dan. Especially if the materials it's made from have some sort of personal meaning, e.g. a branch from a tree your grandfather planted.

I crfted my mom and dad their own canes and Walking sticks.

I made them as father's and mother's day gifts, which was rewarding to the heart.

I recently sold a friend down the street one of my walking sticks - he has a bad knee, and needs mobility assistance.

Another few reasons to be proud of what we do.
