3/4 x 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 - a friend gave me this piece today thinking/hoping I might be able to do something with it - rather than use for kindling.

I'm a cane maker - not a cabinet maker. Any ideas?

To me it's just a little thin for a handle but not by much. Maybe a cane handle for smaller hands? Another idea is to split it in half so you have 2 pieces a little under 3/8" thick, laminate a contrasting wood with the grain running the other way and make a handle out of it. you could also laminate the slabs onto a cane like this.

Or a piece like that can be used for end caps and spacers.

Plenty of ways to use it.

My only power tools are orbital sander, miter saw and router. So I'm willing to part with this beautiful piece of walnut if anyone here would care to make a decent exchange - 36" long stick/shank - and/or pay the postage (Stateside only please).
