This is the best book I have ever found on wood finishes. Makes comparisons between various methods and describes the pitfalls involved in many techniques. I cannot claim to have used all that many of the finishes but I have used a lot of the information.

Is the book american? have found that you name things slightly different or use brands i cant get here?
Or are just generale terms used?
Hoping to finish the griffin project with permant ink to tint the item insted of painting it .but will have to seal wood 1st not sure what with mayby shellac

It is an American book but not brand specific in its recommendations. I see it on the Amazon.com.uk site and the people who commented on it seem to rate it highly.
