Discovered a new lumber yard right in my back yard that I didn't even know was there!
It's in the heart of Amish Country, Keim Lumber Company. They had every kind of wood you could imagine, from every part of the world! EVERYTHING!

I'm in wood workers Heaven!

There's nothing like finding a truly spectacular lumber yard. You feel like you're in Ali Baba's cave. 'Round here it's The Hardwood Store of North Carolina. http://hardwoodstore.com/ I've personally seen 8/4 curly maple boards more than 8" wide and with barely a cup or twist.

Walking into their warehouse is like Christmas morning x 10.

Congrats!

Looks to me like the baseball blanks might lend themselves to stick making. The supply of exotic woods was nice, but upon searching around, I saw some good domestic wood. I really was drooling over the huge $ycamore slabs. I'll take 2!

There is on high quality wood working shop in my area. http://www.theworkbench.com/ I've made a number of visits since getting into stick making for tools. Had earlier used them as a supply for exotic woods to make jewel boxes. One time I was there, a clerk if he asked I he could help me find anything, and I replied a was just ogling the wood. He smiled, and nodded.
